Overall Review

We could not find a physical address for U.S. Tax Shield on its website. No ownership details are listed on the company’s “About Us” or “Contact Us” pages. While the company may be legitimate (or may not be), it makes us nervous to see a company whose ownership and leadership are not willing to put their names behind the company they run. While the company touts an “A” rating at the BBB, it has only been listed with the BBB for less than one year. The “A” rating is commendable, but it would be all the more pursuasive if we could learn about the people who are running this company.

Our Experience with U.S. Tax Shield

We have no experience dealing with U.S. Tax Shield, except the little we know about the company from its website and third-party reviews. U.S. Tax Shield plainly provides the following on its website about fee refunds: “Client, upon cancellation, can receive up to an 80% refund of the total fee paid as indicated in Section 4 of service agreement.” While it is honorable for the company to provide some refund of its client’s fees, we are firm advocates that tax firms should refund 100% of all unearned fees, in the event the client wants to cancel the service.
